09th May 2022

This pandemic has shaken up entire industries with immense consequences. The Australian government has now incentivised job seekers to job vacancies by establishing specific programs to get people to move out of their comfort zone and get a job. Cash assistance is now immediately available and is designed for those relocating if they have decided to take up a job there.

Whether short-term or long-term, the government departments are helping with the costs associated with moving to a new place for employment. In some cases, you also can opt for removal services to help with your move.

The Funding Assistance Available For Job Seekers

Those participating in employment service programs are qualified for immediate relocation assistance to take up job programs. If you decide to relocate to take up ongoing work that includes apprenticeship for over 20 hours a week for more than six months are eligible to receive the following:

  • $3000 for capital city relocation
  • $6000 if you move to a regional areas
  • An additional $3000 if you relocated with a dependent

Employee providers can spend up to $2000 for upfront assistance to job seekers.

If you decide to relocate and take up short-term work in a regional or remote area, the Australian government will help pay up to $6000 for relocation costs. You are eligible for the following:

  • Relocation costs of up to $2000 after completing 40 hours of work in two weeks
  • $4000 relocation costs after completing 120 hours of work in four weeks.
